WHAT IS A COMPUTER?

The computer is a causal noun named primarily for its basic function of computing. A computer can be said to be a tool used to perform predictive work. Nowadays computers are used not only for forecasting work but also for telephone work, storing account details securely, listening to songs and viewing pictures, etc. It is therefore worth noting that it requires a more appropriate description than a computer.

 

A computer is an electrical machine. It executes the set of instructions given to it and converts the data stored in it into useful information.

A computer is an electrical machine. It's not just writing letters and books, using the internet, many people have computer-centric careers. The world has changed so much that the world cannot function without computers.

A computer has many components like a keyboard, mouse, processor memory, monitor, speakers, printer etc. A computer needs commands to perform a specific task. This set of instructions or core is called a program.

The terms we often use when talking about a computer are hardware and software. We call parts like input devices, and output devices hardware and compiler, interpreter, and operating system as software.


INPUT

Input device refers to the equipment used to enter information into the computer.

Example: Keyboard, Mouse, Joy Stick, Light pen, Track Ball, Scanner, Graphic Tablet, Microphone, Bar Code Reader


PROCESSING UNIT

The central processing unit (CPU), the main part of any digital computer system, usually consists of a main memory, a control unit, and an arithmetic-logic unit.


OUTPUT

An output device is a piece of computer equipment that receives data from one source and converts it to another format.

Example: Speakers, Monitor (LCD / LED), Projector, GPS, Printer, Plotter, Sound Card, Video Card


MEMORY

Computer memory is a device used to store data or programs (sequences of instructions) on a temporary or permanent basis used in an electronic digital computer.

Example: RAM, ROM, Floppy Disk, Hard Disk, Magnetic Card, Tape Cassette, Pen Drive, SSD, SD Card, Memory Card, CD, DVD, Blu-ray Disc
