Today, we use mobile data, dongles, WiFi etc. to access the internet. Everyone is getting internet access through them. More than that WiFi is used by 65% of people in the world. All these greatly aid in the acquisition and exchange of information.
A new technology developed along those lines is LiFi. Its extension is Light Fidelity. Its operation is very safe and easy to use. Its technology is similar to the LED bulb we use at home. An LED bulb is limited only by the distance it can travel. The speed of Lifi is much faster than WiFi. A related study mentions that LiFi speeds up to 10 GBPS.
Internet will not work if you go beyond the limit of the LED bulb's light. But, entering another light, the Internet works continuously. In order to use it, the Lifi gadget must be installed on the Bulb. That way you can use the internet everywhere. For example,
- Home
- School
- University
- Office
- Hotel
- Aviation
- Hospital
- Military Base
- Vehicstrial Area
- Street
Who invented LiFi?
LiFi was discovered by Professor Herold Haas from Germany. He proposed the theory that data can be transmitted through light in 2011. The very next year he brought together many people who were involved in research in this field and formed a group called "Pure LiFi". They are developing and testing many gadgets related to this.
Features of Lifi :
- Tested it easily exceeded 10 GBPS speed.
- The signal can be controlled within certain limits.
- Since Wi-Fi operates over Radio Wave, it is not used in many security zones. But Lifi's technology is different from WiFi. So, it can be used everywhere.
- We cannot control the WiFi signal. The possibility of hacking it is high and other devices can also be hacked through it. But this is not possible in Lifi.
Effects of Lifi :
- The light of the LED bulb is only in one place so we cannot use the internet when we go out of it.
- Although its research is true, Lifi's findings have not come to light. It may take a few more years.
